Her next adventure and true love began on the day her daughter was born, as she realized there is no more beautiful journey than being a mom. Seven years later, her heart has expanded twice more thanks to the births of her two sons.

I discovered my passion for childbirth after witnessing the beautiful birth of my first niece, Lainey Mae, in 2007. It was the most miraculous experience of my life. I quickly learned I had a natural ability to be a calming, supportive presence during a process that so often comes with some level of fear or anxiety of the unknown.

Research shows having a doula present at birth can actually decrease complications throughout labor & delivery, and increase bonding between a mother and her baby. This knowledge, along with my passion for nurturing women and babies, led me to discover my calling into this field.

It is an honor to educate families, to advocate for and support their decisions about the kind of birth they would like to experience. It is a privilege to stand by their side as they welcome their newborn baby into the family. I am often in awe when I see the strength of a woman, the love & support of her husband or partner when he arrives for her in those moments, and the joy that erupts in the room when the baby is born.

I love my job! I look forward to speaking with you about your desires for your upcoming birth.

sleep consultation

sasha hawkes

“Many parents believe that it is normal for a child not to sleep during their first years. They come to accept that their lives will be sleepless and unpredictable. This does not need to be true!
What is true, however, is that many children may have difficulty unless they are taught how to sleep.  My belief is that children need to be taught in a loving, nurturing and therapeutic environment that never allows them to cry alone. This is all part of creating a safe and predictable home for your child.”

Sasha is a family therapist and infant and child sleep consultant. She works with many young families as they struggle with their children's sleep issues, helping them to form healthy sleep habits. In Sasha’s parenting groups, she helps nurture and teach the transitions and challenges of parenthood and toddlerhood from a mindful, therapeutic perspective. She has spent many years working with parents and children in therapeutic and educational environments and strives to foster healthy, mindful relationships within families.
